Sometimes I just can't believe that I'm a Mother. I can't believe that someone, Heavenly Father, trusted me with this little child to raise. I honestly think that 99% of the time I'm doing more harm than good and that my child is going to turn out to be some sort of delinquent. Not really, I have the brightest hope for Chase's future, I just don't feel like a good Mom most the time. So yesterday I had one of those moments, those I can't believe I'm a mother and that my child has lived to be this old moments. Let me tell you about it. On Sunday I was putting Chase's shoes on for church and he started whining. I could tell that his shoes were pretty tight, they'd been tight for a while, so I decided we'd go get new shoes on Monday. So yesterday we went to the shoe store to buy new shoes. I had the girl measure his foot since I really didn't know what size to get. Here's the sad part. So I had been squeezing Chase's foot into a size 6 shoe, and when we measured we found out that he now wears a size 8 1/2!!!!! I felt absolutely awful! He's a lot happier about putting shoes on now, and keeping them on. The poor boy! My mom has already threatened to turn me in to Child Protective Services!
So, in case you're wondering if you child need bigger shoes, let me tell you the signs that your child's shoes might be two and a half sizes too small:
* He whines when you put his shoes on
* He takes his shoes off at any and every opportunity (in the car, in his stroller, at church, as soon as we get home)
* You have to smash his foot to get it into the shoe
* His shoes come off while he's walking
I guess this is just a live and learn experience, now I know!

LOL - yes, I've had those moments and now I'm much more aware about what size Chandler is wearing. Chase has got some big feet -he wears the same size as Chan. Just keep plugging along and tell yourself daily you are a good mom!
I think Micah and Chase talk about these moments. Micah will be like, "Um my parents tried to kill me today, luckly that angle was around." Then Chase will be like, "Tell me about it, my feet have been hurting for weeks!" Then they both go run off and destory something! Yeah for us!
I'm simply bidding my time for the day when my kid has to go into therapy for what I'm sure I'll do throughout the course of his childhood, ha! It's a good thing we've all got Heavenly Father on our side, or this could be much worse!! ;)
Oh man Fay, that is hilarious. And I should be allowed to blog on my own blog.
Oh Fae you crack me up!!! I bet life is a little easier now that he is happy about relaxed feet!
Did you end up going to the Circus?
lol, that is hilarious! Size 8.5! He is going to be a monster!!! Ethan wears a six!
That is a cute story Fay. I found your blog through some people's blogs in the ward. Chase is so cute. Don't feel too bad about the shoe thing though. Katie Marie used to suck on our shoes. Maybe you can relate though.
Don't worry Fay.....if anyone is going to get the worst mother of the year award, it should be me....a couple weeks ago I woke up to Penny crying and I was too tired to get up so I just let her cry for a little while....by the time I went into check on her I noticed she had taken her diaper off and had peed all over her crib!!! What kind of mom leaves her baby to sit in her own bed of pee?
Aw poor baby! It happens to all of us; believe me. Just wait until you're in target and they're having to call a code blue (or red, I can't remember) because you've lost one of your children. But be reassured to know that Target is great about getting all of their employees all over their store helping you hunt him down. :)
Well, Ann and I laughed until we cried over this. Thanks, Fay. I look forward to such moments in my own future!
